Step into an ancient Donegal woodland and help restore a long-neglected hazel coppice.

Over two immersive days, you will learn traditional coppicing and layering techniques that shaped Irish woodlands for generations.

With expert tutors guiding you, you will cut, sort, layer and prepare hazel for stakes, binders, hurdles and charcoal. This is a chance to bring a woodland back to life and learn skills rooted in local history.

All tools are provided.

This is an outdoor course, so warm waterproof clothing and sturdy boots are essential.

10am - 4pm both days

It takes place at Casheltown Woods in County Donegal on the shores of Lough Gartan and is in collaboration with Future Oak Farm
